A Mother Border

A Mother Border, 2016. Site Specific Installation

A Mother Border is an installation about migration and he result of an art residency in Psarades, by the lake Prespa, on the Greek-Albanian and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) border.

Absence and loss is a constant feature in the villages of Northern Greece. The Villages have been abandonedor deserted and are eerily quiet. They have lost their voice. The risk of losing their bond with the mother-land is a constant threat to their identity and the identity of migrants.

This work is inspired by the Greek myth of the 3 Moirai, the incarnations of destiny, representing the eternal bonds of past, present and future, in an endlesscycle.
